Internet Safety Presentation, hosted by Alberta Darling, State Senator and Dan Knodl, State Representative.  This FREE presentation on how to better protect children from Internet predators will be given at the Germantown Community Library, by Special Agent Eric Szatkowski, who has presented on this subject around the country and has appeared on a national talk show.  Topics to be covered include: the techniques used by predators; how to tell which kids are most vulnerable; and the importance of filters and monitoring software.  There will be a live demonstration of chat rooms.  Due to the graphic nature of the subject matter, this presentation is for ADULTS ONLY.   Seating is limited, so please call to register at 800-863-1113 or 888-529-0024.

Germantown Civic Group Roundtable This is an organizational meeting to begin discussion and information sharing between the civic groups that serve Germantown.  The objective of this initial meeting is 1) for a representative from each group to introduce their group, its mission and some of its activities; 2) build a contact list so that communication between groups can be facilitated; and 3) discuss how or if the groups can help each other.  The meeting will take place at the Germantown Police Department; contact Chief Pete Hoell at phoell@germantownpolice.org if you plan on attending.

Annual Book Sale held in the community room at the Germantown Community Library, N112 W16957 Mequon Road, Germantown.  There are typically over 10,000 previously enjoyed books on display in a variety of topics for as little as 50 cents for a paperback and $1 for a hardcover book.  There are also special priced older books, some first editions and other specialty items.  Proceeds from this sale will go to library activities and projects.  For more information contact the library at: 262-253-7760.
